Hi Everyone,

As a reminder from discussions and documentation provided last pre-season, all players will be required to wear "EKG Shoulder Pads" for the 2022 season based on the new Rule 1-9-1 Equipment Changes 2021-22. Which states, "field players must have shoulder pads that meet the NOCSAE N200 and contain the SEI Certified logo by January 1, 2022". Please see the attached list of currently approved shoulder pads for the 2022 season to confirm any pair purchased last year or moving forward is on the approved list.

Also, please note Westfield High School has purchased the Maverik M5 EKG Shoulder Pads and will provide as loaner pads a pair of shoulder pads for any player in need of a new pair to meet the new requirement after January 1, 2022. If players do not have their own approved pair of shoulder pads they will be issued for loaner and required to wear those we have purchased. Further, for all organized team activities (including our green day skills-drills sessions) after January 1, 2022 all players will be required to wear the new approved pads and the coaches will be checking each player's shoulder pads to confirm they meet the new required standard and are on the approved list.
